I was curious and did some math.
Since July 3, I have been buying and bidding on straws and eggs left and right. I have spent 985,000 hbs! :O I am sure that I will be buying more like crazy for the rest of the month. Who wants to help me blow more hbs? :))
Who else has been an a buying streak for straws or eggs?

On the original summer refresh post, Ammit mentioned there would be new closed AND open genes. That means we still can still look forward to another new gene, this time an open one! Any guesses as to what it will be?

I am going to go through and do a massive cull on my lines. I am doing a huge cull on both my mares and studs. Going to only keep horses that will produce what I am going for. This will take a few days as I am cleaning house throughly. I know my his will go way down but I want to start over.

I'm incredibly happy with how my lines are starting to develop, but I'm even happier with this guy, I've finally reached my forth generation or just about there (I've still go very few mares of age yet). But this guy has blown my expectations away by miles, it's only his 2 season and because of my lack of mares for him he's only had 15 foals but he's already managed to get into the leader board for roan (16th) and Liver (23rd) which for a new stallion who is only 4th gen I think he's going really well, and he's not even had the best mares yet they've not yet come through so hopefully things will just get better for him.

Introducing: The Valkyrie! A Brindle Snowflake Filly

I was introduced to the wonderful world of snowflakes by a surprise snow-covered foal from my late, great SPX Gillywater, an unassuming black splash sport pony. I had admired snowflakes nearly since I began playing, but I told myself not to fall down the slippery slope of limited edition genes. (A resolution which weakens every time Watercolor goes up for sale.) My snowy herd grows a little each month, thanks to the kindness of other players selling eggs, straws, and stock. Each horse in my snowflake herd exists thanks to the goals, ambitions, and kindness of other HaJ players.

I’ve never created a foundation snowflake before, but once I “spotted” this appaloosa Better Brindle Breakout for sale in conjunction with the awesome GMT lab sale, I knew: It Was Time.

Introducing the beautiful, brindle, exceptionally perfect filly who has stolen my heart:

The Valkyrie

This is my snowflake story, and I would love to know yours!

Who was/is your first snowflake? How do they influence your current herd?

Do you select for certain colors, or is coat color secondary to Lp and snow for you?

If this was your filly, how would you GMT her further?
I am considering adding a second Lp, to guarantee all her foals the best chances to show snow. Adding dun to make her a red dun has also been entertained, although chestnut goes with everything.

Last, but certainly not least... show me your matches made in heaven. Who would you ideally breed her Does he carry snowflake? Is he an exceptional producer? Is he your heart horse with a 3.2 Inconsistent PT but you just love his color? What makes him special to you? Valkyrjur like to evaluate their men thoroughly ; ) She promises not to drag anyone off to Valhalla, but keep a close eye on your boys, just in case.

As soon as they are available to harvest, I will offer eggs, so look for that post in October. I am looking forward to sharing this cutie’s genes with the wonderful snowflake community that has shared so much with me.

I have just opened a buddy chat for my unique coloured horses, Basically I'm breeding for Vault Of Stars but in more colours. I will have my stallions up in chat for a cheaper breeding then public, at this stage I'm not set up to offer my mares, My foals will be put up in chat for Auction price before I Auction them off I get a few intact foals per breeding season that don't meet the requirements I'm after. I get some nice coloured foals that are show horses. So if you sound interested, please request to join Golden Genetics. The rest of the season will be pretty quite, as I breed all my horses usually at the start of the season.

I was really hoping to be able to cull out all blue papered fillies this year but guess not.

Bootstraping - What/Where/How/Why?

I'm considering taking on a bootstrapping line to get my lines started. I've got my solid lines, but I eventually want my horses throwing horses that will stay intact or at least a higher number my intact to show pony ratio is nasty.

So I bootstrap my fillies to my BS stallion (i have brought 1 that comes of age next month and 1 that will come in before my fillies) I don't test my horses until they throw a foal, then I can test them correct? and hopefully this time next year I will be throwing intact foals everywhere.
