Hm, need your opinion

So, I have around 1100 show ponies at the moment. There's a lot that are 4yrs and under with less than 200 points. Should I auction off any horses that have less than 200 points and replace them with higher pointed ponies?

I finally was able to breeding boost one of my studs today and he was perfect. Then I went to put him up for public breeding, only I put him up for sale by mistake. Someone bought him before I noticed. I hadn't even used him myself yet. :-(

I message the person who bought him. Fingers crossed they'll sell him back to me.

Wouldn't it be cool to know what your horse did wrong. Ok maybe oh geeze your horse jumped the fence and got your neighbors horse pregnate. You would lose idk 15 hbs but somebody in the game would have a prego horse and gain a foal and some hbs. . My horses get into trouble but I want to k what they did wrong. Hmmm chew a fence down, kick another horse, running down the road..

Aside from the "True Breeding Brown Appaloosa" what HH gives me a chance at a brown horse? I know Silver Bay links could give Silver Brown, but I'm looking more for just a plain ol brown, not silver or appy (yet).

That Moment When..

That moment when you don't realise you've left a stallion in your primary pasture and you hit the breed all button >.<

I'd apparently left a stallion in my primary pasture last season and I went straight to my 2nd pasture to start breeding and then wondered why my breedable mares went from 67 to only 7 when my 2nd pasture is only a 10 mare pasture. What's worse, is most of my mares were higher gen KP mares starting up for their first season and the stallion was a B papered 2nd gen lol Ah well, I suppose there is always next season and I should have some pretty show foals!

What are your 'that moment when' stories?

Another Way to Look at our Stallions

A few months ago (maybe even a year ago) I started a post like this one, and I got some very valuable information from, and a lot of us had fun, so I'm hoping to do it again.

I'd like us to take a look at "Kull rates" of stallions (please note NoT intact rates. So basically, how effective is a stallion at giving you foals that you want to keep. (Please note pasture bonus, mares etc all have a factor in this so when I make a post I tried to include relevant data such as that).

A Made up Example:

I need some new show ponies (preferably pretty ones), so I take my star* stallion and breed him to the most readily available mares. In this example yellow foundation mares. Let's say I find 43 mares. Since my stallion is really pretty and has frame and some kit genes, and a mare with lethal genes (frame or white genes up to) sneaks into the pasture. So I breed these 43 mares and get only 42 foals. I SBA these foals and only 1 remains intact. So the stallion in this case has a 2.5% intact rate. But what I really need is some nice show ponies. I decide only to keep those with above 10.7 PT. Only 25 horses make the cut. But when I am looking through the foals there is just one that is SO plain jane I just can't stand to have it in my barn. And besides she only has 10.8 PT so I Kull her too. So 24 horses are kept out of 43 "coverings". So 55% keep rate and 45% Kull rate.

Sorry this makes no sense, but I'll recap.

From this stallion I hoped for a specific goal. Pretty show horses that have a PT of minimum 10.7. Only 55% of the coverings fulfilled this, even though he had 97.5% alteration rate.

Please feel free to share your stallions. I always enjoy seeing what other people are doing and they cull etc. And bounce ideas back and forth.

How many closed genes can you put on a single horse?

I wanna add a couple homozygous closed genes to a horse of mine. But.. How many homo copies can you add to a single horse?

I started this second account in June with the goal of making it to the top of the snowflake leaderboards by bootstrapping. It's a bit challenging as my studs are only 4g/5g *stars and only het snowflake, but this season I'm getting a little taste of acheivments to come! Right now this girl is sitting in number one on the snowflake leaderboards. That will probably change as members with better stock sort their foals, but for now I am basking in sweet sweet glory!

Pretty new here in terms of actual playing hours. Haven't figure out what horses I breed yet, and am only now figuring out gens... anyways, I rolled a Catch a Blue Moon HH the other day and fell in love with the mare I created. I used the second create to make a colt and I've been planning to breed them. Well, today I rolled it AGAIN and I was elated. Now I can have TWO sets of 1G parents. This was becoming an actual line. Well, as I went to make my second colt I glanced at the HH description. There were a lot of scary looking white genes there. I checked the lethality charts and sure enough. No way any foals would make it out alive. Welp, the horses will be pretty in my barn even if I can't breed them.

So, I've got these three new two-year-olds from my Quill bloodline, and oh they are frustrating me to no end. No matter how many times I reroll, they're still insisting on having a full blanket, even though none of them have the PATN1 gene.
