I'm having a bad day, through and through. I just got home from work and decided I was going to sit down and play around on HaJ for a little while and forget about the real world. I didn't know what exactly I COULD do, since I've already done my pasture breeding and tested all the foals. I didn't want to tackle stallion culling tonight, since that's a nightmare. (I just love them all!)

I logged in with 1.5 million hbs on my account, which is a serious high for me (go show ponies!) and I figured I'd step outside of my barns and breed around and hope for something cute. In clicking into the Macchiato buddy chat to get rid of the notification, I noticed this beautiful stallion for sale, most likely for not papering where he should have. Since my goals are low, I didn't hesitate to scoop him up. I love W8 but have never bred for it, since it's pretty hard to get your hands on. Plus brown, satin, and lp are all pros for me!

Well, next logical step was to peruse the mares up for brood and spend all my money of course. One such mare carried KitM- another HUGE yes from me!! I will admit, I was a little disappointed their foal didn't get both KitM AND W8, but I was still happy it inherited one of them. Another cute show pony in the books. My mood is already starting to improve.

This was one of the first breedings I did with the stallion, since I didn't want someone else to breed to the KitM mare while I picked more mares. It wasn't until I opened the stallions foal page to sort through the babies he gave me that I noticed this little gem, hidden away! He got literally every gene I was hoping from the pair and let's not forget the rarity and special-ness of getting a twin!!

Her dam had 16 foals, of which only 2 were intact, and I own them.

She is uneven, which is very rare in my breeding barns.

She has a nice PT, and she papered Blue. Both right about where I expect them to be.

She missed the DP, but that's easy enough to GMT back on.

I don't really want a whole lot of splash in my lines. I don't disLIKE it, I just don't want it right now.

She is het satin.

ARRRGGGGHHHH! I don't know!

Here's mine!
I have been playing for a little over 2 years. I have 1,100 intact horses and 1,090 altered and a show bonus of 70K. I subscribe to even line breeding. So all of my horses are evenly bred and sorted into lines designated for a specific color, gene, or founding stud. I have 17 lines (geeze that's a lot!) so I keep the number of horses per generation per line pretty small, about 1 stallion to 20 mares. I keep 99% of my fantasy/closed gene altered babies as show ponies as well as most of my straw bred altered babies. As for intact babies I keep up to 3 mares per gen per line (typically less) and I very rarely keep any boys intact. As for quality control, for boys I like them to be at least A papered at 2G or 3G. I am just starting to reach star at 5G. For girls I am a bit more lenient. They have to be blue at at least 4G and gold at 7G. I don't pay too much attention to PT for my breeders but if I am having to cull down I choose horses with the top PT to breed.

*Edit: I thought of a couple more things to add. I only have one pasture so my mares do not get pasture bonus. I switch out the mares in the pasture so everyone gets bred. This keeps my number of intact foals down and lets me show all of my horses. I also give my horses prefixes to let me know what line and generation they are in. An example would be that GU 3 would be a third generation in my grullo line. With over 1,000 horses I can't remember who goes where otherwise!

I hope others will share the way they organize and new or old players can get ideas. I am also happy to answer any questions concerning my breeding or to help other players make plans to meet their goals.
