I'm editing the end of this post to keep it updated as best I can.

I know that PT is how long a horse will train. Not necessarily how hard, or if they level out in a good spot. Regardless, personally, I only keep higher PT's, but I want to try and come up with a graph to see if that supports, or doesn't support my strategies....

So.....

Would any of the more establish players that have had a premium account please do some research for me? If possible I am looking for altered show horses that have been owned by players that can say with somewhat certainty that the horses were shown 2x a week, every month (IE have a premium account with auto show settings, and the horse hasn't been sold)

Also, as I'm trying to limit as many variables as possible, please only look at horses that are 16 years old.

Sorry, per usual I'm not explaining very well.

So, what I'm asking of you, please, is find me the PT, and points of all of your 16 year old show horses. (if you can be relatively certain they were altered as a foal, and have had every oppurtunity to show).

Although pictures are always cool, just data points are fine. I'm going to go through my horses, create an example horse search, and make an example data points.

Graph in Progress
https://www.desmos.com/calculator/q5czp1h23r

Up through Blue Valley's horses now. About 200 data points.

https://www.desmos.com/calculator/heco56u0kc

Skipped ahead to Painted Dream's horses.

Do you think I should make more graph's for different ages, or put it all on the same graph with different color points for different ages?

First two pages of Kintara's horses added

https://www.desmos.com/calculator/pyfwbpmbnc

First search of Kintara's horses added.

https://www.desmos.com/calculator/uwu022pyr2

Purple means 16YOs. Orange means 15YOs

Added 4 more pages worth of horses

https://www.desmos.com/calculator/qhcff45heb

I know it was unscientific of me to change the variable and add 18YO's but they are now red X's. But I was curious to see what the higher PT's would do. So I'll just make sure to keep them a different color.

So ... I've decided to start a sort of odd little breeding project, my first real, codified project. Since we don't really have breeds in the game, I figured I'd "make" one with a breeding line, and I've chosen Kathiawaris:

For those who don't already know - a kathiawari is a breed from India (the Kathiawar peninsula, specifically) noted for their inward curling ears. They are related to arabians and marwaris and are known for their hardiness, athleticism, intelligence, and affection. They were used as cavalry horses for a long time, and are still used in various local sports and cultural traditions (like weddings), and they have a swift, lateral pace, called the revaal. I like them because they are small desert horses and they often have spotting like tobiano and splash. And their ears, their ears are neat :D

Anyway, the rules I've set for myself are thus:
- must be: a riding pony
- must not have: recessive bay (so they can never be black), mushroom, chinchilla, silver, roan, appaloosa, unnatural colors, or ice
- must only have: the white spotting of: tobiano, any splash, any sabino, and w20

And my goals are:
- breeding for lightest bone possible (IRL they are known for having light bone structure)
- breeding for highest PT possible.

I've made a "Kathiawari Registry" brand for them too, that fits inside my stable brand :D (it's on the lower right corner):

Dance In Your Blood 01S

I was thinking ... if anyone else had an interest, that I could open a chat for them. And I'd be happy "brand" any horses that fit the criteria with the Kathiawari Registry flower, if anyone was interested in that :)

I've come to the point where i'm getting to many blues to keep all of them, but i don't have enough golds to cull all of the blues either. So i need to come up with another thing to cull my bootstrap mares on.

Next season, i'll have nearly 200 BS mares to breed, which means I'll have to pull an extra Star boy from my surplus stud barn to cover everyone. Or i can cull about 50 blues.

I haven't culled on anything but paper level up until now, so i know i probably have quite a few inconsistent. And i haven't culled by color, either. Eventually my plan is to mix my even lines with my bootstrap lines, whenever I start getting more even gold/ star. It'll be a while on that though. So i'm not sure where i should start culling.

Here's a rundown of my mares and fillies:
Mares 4+: 147
16 Gold
131 Blue

Filly 3yo: 44
5 Gold
39 Blue

Filly 2yo: 59
4 Gold
55 Blue

Filly 1yo: 47
11 Gold
37 Blue

Not in any way to diss on all the hard work Ammit has put into this! But it would be absolutely lovely to have a way to sort in order of age in the basic sort. I know we can select one year at a time (if, say, I want to compare the all time points of all my 2 yo), but I would love to sort by age and some other criteria and keep scrolling. Oh, and a way to search for PATN1, too :x
I think an ease-of-use feature that would be nice would be the ability to hit a little checkbox that changed all the kit or ice genes to "must not have" - searching for hom of one of those can take some time!

Anyone else have wishes about the horse search? I know we had another thread like this several months ago but I think it got buried, and it would be interesting to see if your wishes have changed since then if you've posted before!

Also, to keep this post a bit more on the positive side, if you have any, you can also include tips for other members on how to make the search run a bit more smoothly! Any tips or tricks you've figured out?

Hey! I just made a tattoo to indicate my breeding herds and found it easier than I expected, so I wanted to share what I did to maybe help out some other people :) Just to clarify, this is just one way of making a tattoo - there might be easier ways to do this. This was just the moist intuitive and accessible to me as a Windows user. I think it's best for simple designs - think a solid symbol and/or some letters - not hand sketched creations. I did my best to explain, but feel free to ask questions or tell us about easier ways!

I'm also willing to take simple tattoo requests. :) Here's how mine came out, as modeled by my SEB Argent:

THE PROCESS
Software Recommended: Greenshot (free)

Software Required: Microsoft Paint 3D (free), Microsoft PowerPoint (paid)/Microsoft Office Online equivalent (free),

1) Figure out what you want to do!
Let your creativity flow here. Think about what you're trying to show. I just wanted a "signature" mark for my breeding line that represented my stable name (Cheval Chartreux, as I'm focused on blue roans). Sketching ideas with pencil and paper helped me visualize my ideas without getting too invested. Keeping your design simple here will save you time later - think a simple symbol, or letters. I decided on a fleur de lis framed by 2 "C"s (the acronym for Cheval Chartreux).

2) Use your favorite program to sketch the design digitally. Simplify your idea if needed.
Now, pick your favorite design and create it digitally. If you're sticking to symbols and letters, PowerPoint is super easy - just use clip art and text boxes to position everything as you like. Size doesn't matter much yet, but if you start with smaller images and font size the next step will be easier. Try make everything one single color. I placed a very simple fleur de lis, then added 2 text boxes (one reversed) and played with different fonts and spacing until I was happy. I made it dark navy - again, the whole blue thing :) If you're having trouble, edit your design! Remember it will be tiny in the end, so mercilessly cut any tiny, small, or even some medium details. To get an idea of how small we're talking, open HAJ/HJ2 in your browser and zoom out in PowerPoint until it is as small as the star quarter mark tack item.

NOTE: If you want to freehand your design, go for it! This step just gives you a reference image - I'm terrible at pixel art, so I need all the help I can get lol.

3) Make a screenshot of your design and paste it into Paint 3D.
I use a free program called Greenshot for screenshots because you can customize how much of the page you capture at once. (If you're using the full screen screenshot, you'll need to crop it later.) If you don't have it already, download Microsoft Paint 3D for free (you MUST have 3D - regular Paint doesn't have a way to make the background transparent). Paste your screenshot and crop it using the 1:1 ratio option.

4) Resize the image and set up your canvas.
Go to the Canvas tab. In the menu on the right, turn on "Transparent canvas" (your image will still have a white background because it came in with the screenshot - we'll fix it in a minute). Make sure "Lock aspect ratio" and "Resize image with canvas" are both checked, then enter 25 pixels for both the height and width of the canvas.

5) Make the background transparent.
Zoom waaaaaay in to take a look at your masterpiece. You'll notice a lot of fuzziness, and that your background is still white. We'll start with the latter issue. Go back to the "Brushes" tab, select the Eraser, and dial your thickness down to 1 pixel (remember - this baby's only 25 pixels wide). Erase the white background areas as best you can - you'll see the program background color show through as you go. I left some of the fuzzy parts in at this point. You will come back and clean up more later, so don't go too crazy.

6) Clean up your image.
Okay, this is the trickiest part, but it won't take as long as you think. Use the eyedropper tool (next to the color selection box) to pick the color that's closest to what you want from your image. It's easiest to go with one color, but you can recolor things later if you want to mix it up. Use the Pixel Pen tool (again at 1 pixel thickness) to define your shape. Start with the pixels that are already darker than those around them, then slowly fill in other pixels to get closer to the right shape. For me, it took a lot of trial and error and zooming in and out to make the fleur de lis look mostly right. Be patient, try different things, and zoom in and out until you're happy. When it looks right, use the eraser tool to remove any extra pixels from your design. You should have only pixels of one color (your design) and blank pixels at the end of this process.

7) Save that puppy!
Save the design as a PNG file.

8) Upload and apply your tattoo!
From the HAJ/HJ2 home page, go to the Tattoo Registry. If you haven't already, activate your free slot (or buy a new one). Upload your design, then rename the tattoo, and voila! You have a usable tattoo of your own! :) Then you just need to add it to your horses via the Tack page.

I know that whether a horse is evenly bred or unevenly bred can be a huge factor for people in buying, selling, or breeding horses. My question is how picky are most people about definition. For example, I have a 9th generation stud; his sire's line is completely evenly bred, but his dam's line is one generation short on one branch. This makes him technically uneven, but does that really have any bearing on his value? How far back do most people go to determine if their horse is even or uneven?
