Working on Addition

This guy is my new project. This is going to be the biggest one I've done yet and he'll be the cornerstone of my light horse/pony herd, so I'm going all out and making him my dream horse. The goal is to have him finished by my birthday (Dec 9) so I can breed a massive amount of birthday dream babies! But I may wait until Christmas...

His base color will be GMT'd to silver sable champagne, probably hom for At, but het for E, Z and Ch so he can make lots of colorful foals.

He is currently hom for Sooty+, Dense Pheomelanin and Snowflake. I plan to add W10, if it comes out in RGS in the next month or so. He will not get LP or a second kit mutatation, I like that his descendants will have surprises pop up.

I'm contemplating adding KP and/or GP. I like both genes, but currently don't really breed for either one. (I have some accidentals in my BS herd)

I'm trying to decide what else I want to do with him, I have over a month to work on him. I know I'm not planning to add closed genes because I want to share him. I just wondered what you all might do with him. It might give me ideas.

Next switch is just over 3 days away! What genes are you hoping for? I am desperately hoping for Wrong Warp. After that any of the ices except for 6, 9 and 10.

I have started the ritual sacrifices to the Arengee in the hopes the the wrong warp Gods will smile down on me (or Ammit will, - either would do). I have vowed to sacrifice my bank account to the roving gene sales volcano for wrong warp. Unfortunately the account is a bit fickle and no longer virgin, as it has participated in previous roving gene sales. I am hoping that will not negatively impact my chances. :))

As another member suggested, now that DP is in the purchase option for GMT's, you can check to see if a horse carries it. Just select the horse, then selct "Modify this horse", and look at the DP section. Horses that carry it will have t "D" in the gene selection phase. As long as you don't select the gene, you don't have to pay for it.
I discovered that this White Wedding mare was hom DP!

Starting Over, looking for ideas

I have been thinking long and hard about this, and I have decided to step away from breeding my current lines. Hitting 14.0 was my goal for a long time, and I achieved it, but I am not really sure I have the heart for the long, slow, slog to 15.0.

I will be spending the next few months flushing my best mares and stockpiling straws, just in case I ever want to pick it back up again, but I am retiring my Era 0 line. I will continue to bootstrap in order to keep my show horse pool going, but that is it for Era 0 for me. At least for now.

That being said, I need ideas for a new line. So, show me your horses. I am fond of dark, sooty+, maybe chestnut or buckskin. I would rather avoid excessive white this time around. No fantasy genes, with the possible exception of Macchiato. I do have the license.

Convince me what my next line should focus on.

Show Horse Value Question

Show horse - which to keep? I am trying to decide if it is worth culling show horses for value. Show horses that level off in a good place (generally any of the "W" classes) continue to earn points throughout their careers. Horses that level off in an "L" class don't add much. And they cost to enter shows.
But what if a horse has a few hundred points and has leveled off in a "bad" place? Is the show horse worth barn space?

What are your strategies for keeping show horses?

Well after almost 12 years of playing Hunt and Jump I think it’s high time I come up with a breed name but I’m terrible at names! So I’m coming to you for help.

My player name is based off my first paint gelding Bandit and my current paint gelding Rileys registered name is Just Watch Me Now.

I’d love if the breed name would be based off the theme of bandits or just watch me now sentiments lol but does not have to be.

I also exclusively breed for grullo with white patterns.

So I was curious as to how many points a horse could earn in a single month. So I did a search. The most points earned this month by one horse was 380 and then I got a shock. I'm the owner! What?! Of course Dark Star is the breeder. I think we all dream of producing such great showing beauties as Dark Star. :)

Sizzler leveled off in the perfect spot. She places 1st out of 20 every single time. I'm gonna miss her when she goes but luckily she'll be around for awhile longer.

Let's start with just one horse per person, and if there is some extra if anyone would like to choose a second one that's fine. I'd like to see them get used :)

I've always been confused about when horses are possibly able to age out of the game. Is it horses that are 16, turning 17...? Or horses 17, turning 18...? I have read the info and FaQ's and such, but that just confused me more, the way they had it worded the last time I read it.

I was impressed by my search of my own critters! I'd love to see what you guys have accomplished, too! I know the highest in the game is 14.0 on this server. I've got a goal of 13.0 PT for my intact breeding stock currently. Hopefully I'll hit it in the next two or three seasons.
