His sire is Het KP, so he could've even gotten that.

Just a fun little thing, do you have a favorite horse or a horse that really helped to build your lines that was bred by someone else? I think it's neat to see what you let go, that someone else prized.

Mine was Miss Opaque Player, originally bred by Mystic Rose. Went through auction and a couple of owners before coming to me. I got my first Star and Gold from her line. Several of my top and prized horses go back to her, she really helped build me.

Morgenstern will be available for breeding next season, and I am considering some minor GMT tweaks. I have other projects that are more important.... but... I still enjoy tossing ideas around. What would you add to him if he was yours?

-Trying to stay with open genes only. Especially since he's only a PF, I need to save, and I want to share him with everyone. (But please help me if axiom green or a new gene comes out this month or next month)
- Assuming you would be interested in straws how important would it be to you that I take one or both copies of frame off? I 'm debating about it myself, but I do not plan on breeding his offspring together... Most of them will cross with my 2G liver snowflake stud (I have a surprise hidden single copy of snowflake on Morgenstern just to make things exciting...) Others will cross with White Walker children to add their DP... And I require 2G A's... so I doubt I would get all that many colts out of him anyway. But if it made a big impact in his shareability?
-Would a copy of regular Dun look weird/cool on him? I did look up Nd1/D + liver, but only saw a handlful.
-(I do have some other ideas with.... "thinking aloud" thoughts on his notes too)
-Other ideas you have? Hypothetical of course...

Look what I found in my "growing foals" barn! I stuff prominsing foals in there and then only look at them 2 years later - so it's definately a surprise! Much to look forward to next year. (the name says "A", but I use that for blue papered mares as well as A stallions, 'cause they are equal).

(Since the first version of this was too complicated, I’m going to drastically simplify.)

RAOK = Random Acts of Kindness!

I have created a chat to allow people to spread the joy of Secret Santa all year! You can leave ponies for other players, and find something wonderful for yourself! Basically the principle is, take a pony, leave a pony!

The rules are as follows:

Join the RAOK Train chat and look through the horses there. If you see one you like, buy it! Then replace that horse with one of your own.

Points of clarity:
- All horses for stud and sale must be listed for 1 hb.
- If you take a pony you must leave a pony!
- All horses must be fully tested and evenly bred if intact
- Uneven show horses that are gelded or spayed are also welcome!

Please let me know if anyone has questions :)

I joined this game Jan 10 last year. It's been an interesting year, filled with ups and downs, and this game has been a huge help. The people here are wonderful, the gameplay is engaging, and the horses are so damn pretty! So I want to give back. For the rest of this month, I am offering straws from all of my studs at pull price. If you'd rather do live covers or can't use straws, just let me know and I'll put them up for you.

To make identifying horses easier, if the name starts with E, they are even bred. F is a foundation and U is uneven. The generation is noted right after the letter. And I have tons of genes, open and closed. These include KP, Snowflake, Chinchilla, Watercolor, Wrong Warp, Axiom, Nexus, brindles, and more.

I picked him up because of his price tag, but as y'all know I don't really breed for snowflake..

So, he is up for trade!

What I really need/want is a high star bootstrap stud with satin/and a closed gene (sooty+ would be a huge bonus!). Any size, but id prefer the horse to be under 17 years of age.

If ya don't have any star boys, I'm also looking for dance between two oceans offspring (I'm trying to collect them/I LOVE gulastra plume) or kp/dp breeding stock. (Preferably draft or heavy warmblood)

Appaloosa Genetics Guide

With so many new players and with appaloosa being a more complex gene combination I thought I would offer up an unofficial genetics guide. Feel free to add, offer examples, or corrections in the comments!

Appaloosa is a pattern caused by two genes: the L(lp) gene and the ECA3P (PATN1 or +) gene. To have appaloosa you must have at least one L(lp) but the others may vary to create different patterns.

Examples:

L(lp) L ECA3P(+) ECA3P+): Causes a few amount of spots on the hindquarters or even no spots but a light varnish over the entire body.

L(lp) L(lp) ECA3P(+) ECA3P(+): Causes a blanket on the hindquarters, not so many defined spots, and may extend up onto the back and stomach.

There are, as always, exceptions to the rule as appaloosa isn't always a black and white gene. There are also hidden genes that control spot size (large vs small), varnish, and the variability in blanket size. By breeding two horses together who have the genes you desire you have a higher chance of getting offspring that have those genes. Such as if you want appaloosa with no varnish, if you breed two horses with no varnish you are more likely to get a baby with no varnish than if you were to breed two horses with varnish and just hoping for a baby without.
