Considering unaltering and boosting...is it worth it? She didn't pass SBA...The stallion is one of the best, so I don't know if it would be worth some boosts to get her to Gold*/AGA him.

It's so weird that this mare passed strict breeding advice with yellow paper and inconsistent. I have had foals paper better and were consistent that were spayed and gelded . this game just does not make sense to me lol

Just more proof that mares with extremely low PT that pass SBA should seriously be considered as high quality broodmares..
Ive bred a number of mares with PTs below 5 and they all produced amazing PTd foals that also passed SBA. Some produced foals with PT over 10.
Today, I created some mares and got a mare with a PT of 0.5. So I thought I would test my theory again ..and bred her to one of my studs whose PT is 9.9 and this is the gorgeous little girl they produced...Note the PT of 10.3, she has passed SBA..and papered RED

So a lesson to be learned..dont knock the low PT horses if you're looking for quality breeders. If they pass SBA..you could end up with some amazing foals. Ive been breeding low PT mares since I started and its been working really well for me. :)

How did you all finally decide on some goals? I am finding it hard to figure out my goals. I don't even know what I like. I feel so over the place with my breeding and hard to tell what is quality. I know I like Nexus and satin. I love Dancers line and Joeys Dream lines. I like my KP horses to.

Has anyone just felt like they can't settle on a color? If so what is your goal then?

How do you decide who to keep?

So today I bred all my foundation pasture horses, which have grown considerably in number since last breeding season, as I've gone a bit crazy with herd helpers, and I've been inundated with intact foals! Which is kind of nice, since last season I had a lot of altered foals. Anyway, I've finished testing everything and to my surprise, I have a lot of B papered colts. Actually, I have a lot of colts in general. With my previous season, I was just aiming for B/Red papered horses to keep for my 2G herd. But now I feel inundated with them and don't even know where to start deciding who to keep and who to sell.

What makes you decide to keep a foal apart from paper level? PT score? Colour? Consistency? How strict is everyone?

How many stallions to you try to have for each generation herd? At the moment I have 20+ B papered 2G colts from this season alone and I don't even know how many I want to narrow down to! Haha.

Basically my herd is getting bigger and I don't know how to stay on top of it. (Send help!)

I am just curious to see how many barns everyone has. Is it good to have a bunch of 15 stall barns? for me it is the easiest to buy but wondering if I should invest in bigger barns even though it will take longer to get them?

I'm still new but I'm confused on how you get certain lines. Some horses I'm very interested in are for sale to only people who have intact horses with that gene. How am I supposed to own an intact horse of I can't buy one?
