      <description><![CDATA[My understanding is that a stallion papered as <b>*Star</b> will be a better breeder than a stallion that is papered as <b>A</b>.  I compared two of my stallions:  SP Marbled Flames against his sire SP Joined Flames.  The son is papered Star, while the sire is papered A.  The son also has higher PT papering, although I understand that isn't connected to breeding ability.  I was confident that the Comparison Test would show the son to be superior to the sire.  The results?  "SP Marbled Flames is about as good as SP Joined Flames."<br /><br />Is there some nuance of Stallion Papering that I am not getting here?  I was going to use the Star son as my main stud and retire his sire, but now I am not sure if it will make a difference.       <description><![CDATA[This is my first month utilizing the automatic breeding. I have four pastures and I wanted to be sure everyone got bred with plenty of time to sort before the end of the month. I did not realize that "best of the bunch" included all of the pastures which leads to my question.<br /><br />How do I figure out the best of each pasture?       <description><![CDATA[I just pulled in my pasture foals, and the best of pasture colt has tested higher than anything else I have! My usual benchmark was comparison tested a fair amount, and I've nothing superior to him - just a few "as good as." <br /><br />I tested one of the foals in my new crop against my old benchmark and he was as good as. It's seemed in the past that there's a general "level" that several will fall at. <br /><br />So I guess my question is how many "levels" of sorts have you found colts fall into? I'd like to keep the line high quality, but I'm also reluctant to cull every 2g stallion/colt except for him. <br /><br />Thanks!]]></description>
