So how exactly do the horses go up the levels? I see some of my horses going up by leaps and bounds and others stuck in the same level constantly. I saw one horse stay in the same level for 3 shows(getting first in all) then spike up and skip several levels in one go.
Then there is the foals, is there any point? They are able to be shown but always lose and get negative points. You'd think showing foals would increase their potential like in real life.

Oh and any of the tack and things i put in, are those free to put in or do they cost?

I've noticed the damages section on the Records tab on a horse's page before, so I had always been curious about what it means, and I'd never actually come across a horse with anything in the damages section before.

So what exactly does it mean? Will it effect the horse in the long term? Does it effect the value of the horse if I ever decide to sell it?
