Couple noob questions-
How long is a "week" or a "month"? Are we talking real time?
How much money do you get for "show points"?
Why would a horse with a high Performance Test Grade be gelded when a lower one isn't? Say they are both consistent. I'm missing something.

I am trying to understand HET and HOM better. I see that I have some horses that only carry one gene of something (Eg Pearl) but it shows up in their coat. As an example of what I am asking I will use my two snowflake boys, even though I know it is harder as Snowflake isn't testable.

Would this guy be a HET snowflake or did he miss out on the gene altogether?

I just got the cutest little colt but he's C papered and I'm aiming to only keep B papered 2nd gens. Would buying a boost token for him bump him to a B or is it more luck or the draw?

So I finally got an intact filly out of my lone 2G mare, however she only papered red. Is this acceptable for a 3G mare? Or should I spay and keep her as a show pony? She has a lovely coat, but if it's not wise to breed a red 3G, then I don't want to do it!

Breeding Inconsistent Horses?

Hey guys!

I'm relatively new here and have just bred my very own first foals! One of them turned out lovely, but the other one, although I am in love with her genotype, has only a decent PT score and is inconsistent.

My question is, how is consistency determined? Both of her parents were consistent so I'm just a bit confused.

Secondly...should I bother breeding her eventually? Again I love her genes but if consistency is passed down I don't want to keep breeding inconsistent horses.

Papering Mares + Papering Scores

I believe I read somewhere that mares had to have at least 3 foals before you could have them papered, and that later foals will continue to influence their score, but I'm not 100% on whether that's true on not...especially after some tweaks to the testing system that happened. Anyone know? Don't have enough Hajibucks to test any right now. XD

Alright, so I stumbled upon this anomaly by accident while copying tack from one horse to another.

I did not have these manes prior to HJ updates, instead I had a mix of tidy and running braids on my horses, and only stumbled upon these by throwing tack from the first horse onto my prized stud, whereupon I took notice from a foal's lineage while checking out his grand kids.

I feel like there are a lot of these topics, but the whole hidden gene thing is a bit confusing, I'm not 100% sure what to look for just yet. I bred this colt this season and he is extremely dark for a buckskin. His dam is StySty and so is he, but he is still much darker, so does that mean he could heterozygous for DP or is just a really dark sooty?

In the pastures I have my a stallion and a few mares, do I have to hit "breed now" button and leave the foals in the pasture to get better results. Or is it the mares (to get better results) I leave in for a certain amount of time then hit "breed now" , do they breed automatically in the pastures if I don't hit "breed now"? If that didn't make sense leave a comment and I'll try to explain better.
