Newbie Looking for Advice on Show Horses

I only started a few days ago and in typical newbie fashion have blown most of my cash on random "pretty" creates that I have no idea what to do with.
I am still trying to figure out everything here, the learning curve is a bit steep for me but I am loving this game immensely so far just bumbling about. I am so happy I found it.
Even so, I have already overwhelmed myself a bit. I did the silly thing and went horse crazy before I searched through for helpful “How To” posts. I know better and I am regretting it. Hahaha!
I have been tempted to restart from scratch but think I will try to soldier through on this single account for now, especially since I paid for the basic upgrade.

I think, for now, I would like to try to work on developing a decent herd of show horses and start turning a profit so I can play with breeding “pretties” a little later on.
Would anyone be willing to give me a basic rundown on how to start collecting/creating/breeding some good show horses? What do I look for in horses to buy? What stats are important? Is the Adoption feature still active? What Heard Helpers should I look at if I am creating some foundation show horses? How do I go about breeding a line of good show horses? Should I just deactivate this account and start over? (Can I do that?)

Any advice is greatly appreciated. :)

What does "?>>?" mean on GMT'D horses?

Anyone know why the question marks show up next to some GMT's on horses. Is that a mystery GMT option, or something that the owner removed to keep the modification a secret?

Fixed!Bonus Stalls Disappeared

My main barn should have 77 stalls because I gained some bonus stalls. I just looked and it says 77/75 and that my barn is overfilled. On my home page it stills says I have earned 2 bonus stalls. All my stalls were full last night, but not overfilled. Any idea what happened? I just bought another basic upgrade; would that have affected it? There was no lapse in my upgrade. Update: I logged out and logged in and that fixed it. Forgot to try that first ^.^;

Disappearing horses?

I had 210 horses in a barn and tried to move into a pasture. It took 100 out and took down to 110 in barn but no horses in my pasture? And they are not in my primary barn. So where are they? This happened one day last week too but I thought maybe I was just crazy. But I know for sure they were there tonight. Unfortunately I have too many horses and I am not exactly sure what ones I have in pixel motion.

Buying Basic Upgrade Renewal

I already have a basic upgrade. If I buy another one, will the new one start after my current one is up (e.g. buying two 3 month upgrades = 6 months) or will buying another before my current one is over mean I "waste" some of it (e.g. buying a 3 month upgrade 1 month after another = 4 months)?

Will not let me purchase a horse

I tried to buy a horse this morning, and the game will not let me. It gives me two error messages, one that I don't have any open stalls (I do) and one that I don't have enough money to purchase the horse (I do).

Any ideas?

To see any awards I won, I used to go to my Member Home page click on my underlined name, and it would take me to the page that listed my awards. It would also work if I clicked on DragonRun on any of my horses pages. Now when I do that it takes me to my primary barn page? If I open anyone else's horses page and click on their name it takes me to their member info and lists all of their awards.
How do I see my awards now?

I was able to finish the gmt work on my new splash m guy so he gets the same genes/look as his "big brother". Let me tell you, I love how he looks! My only problem is I am drawing a blank on his name. I have tried for almost a month to come up with something to no avail. Help me name him, and you could win either a foundation splash M straw package (for gene owners) or a splash M show pony package (for non gene owners). The only naming parameters are 1) starting with an S 2) one word only. Having a name that would theme well or tie into his herd helper of Better Brindle is a bonus but not necessary.

Question about Breeding Boosts

Alright, so I have this nice pair of foundations that I'm wanting to breed to start a new line, once they're old enough. I'm considering giving the male a +5% breeding boost, but the one thing that has me hesitating is the effect on testing the foals. Now, obviously him being better will mean the standard that they're judged by is higher, and that's fine. I'm cool with a greater proportion of foals not making it through testing.

My concern is that the 5% boost will put a big enough distance between them that none of the foals will make it through testing. Could the effect from it be that big, or am I worried about nothing? They're both from the same Rank Special, so right now their quality should be roughly equal.

Question about merging accounts

If I have a closed gene on another account and wish to merge it with this account, but do not own that gene on this account, can I still merge the accounts?

Sorry if that's a stupid question. I have the IVs to do it. I just don't want to lose the license. I'd just rather have them all on one account. Didn't think when I got them in separate ones.

I have a question about the control panel for selling horses. Sometimes I noticed the sale price is not 2500 in that section, the sale price varies depending on the horse. Some will automatically have say: 2750, 3250, 4500. Is this a suggested sale price?

Genetic Testing issue

When I select horses from the barn page and test them, instead of it saying "The lab has discovered your horse is Perlino Dun" it just says "The lab has discovered your horse is " and no color name comes up. If I test a horse individually from their page, it works fine and the message is complete.

not sure if this would class as cheating or not but i accidently put this gelding in the auction and only just realised now... he has a 10.5pt score which is why i was keeping him to see how well he would progress as he got older. so i was wondering if anyone would put a bid on him and i will purchase him back for $3000 the $400 extra as a thank you. however i do know that it might be classed as cheating however im hoping its not. if it is i will just have to let him go :)

Ran the genetic testing she comes out as a Chestnut Appaloosa.
These are her genes.

So there's no cream according to that but she has got to be the lightest chestnut I have ever seen. Can anyone tell me what gene/allele is causing her particular shade of chestnut?

So i want to keep training a couple of my horses, (between the ages of 2 and 6) but when i go to do so it doesnt show that i have any horses to train. The last time i trained them was when i first started, last month, and it hasnt let me since: and no, none of the horses were leveled off.

Is this a bug, or could it have something to do with my horses?

RESOLVED: Color Name Not Popping Up After Tested?

Hi, I'm not sure if anyone else has had this issue but it appears that after I test the color on a horse, the genetic code pops up but the color name never appears and there is a blank space where the color should be. I've logged out and back in, cleared cache/cookies/history, and tried different browses. I've also checked them through a different account and the name never shows up. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to resolve it?
