This evening I bought a 120 stall barn with IVs. When I went to edit its name, I found two barns listed as "Extra Barn." I thought that perhaps I'd forgotten buying a barn previously and so renamed the second one Brussels Barn (since it's to hold my draft horse line). It showed up in the list of barns at the top of the Primary Barn page. However, there was no other "Extra Barn" to be found in that list, which appears like this:

The second Extra Barn still shows up in the Edit Barn Names list but not in the drop down list for moving horses at the bottom of the barn pages.

The barn number appears twice because I was experimenting with changing the barn's name, something I was able to do, although it never showed up in the list of barns anywhere else except in the name changing feature.

So, I probably did not purchase this extra barn after all, and I have no idea where it came from. It should be removed from this list, I believe.

I was looking at a horse's pedigree (it was not my horse) when I saw that this horse's dam has a note (in the pedigree) like "Please do not clone descendants". I have seen some horses with this note. So my dream here is a classic champagne appy to put snowflake on. Up til now I've had really good luck picking up rank special or perfect foundation horses for my GMT needs, but this time I'm not having much joy with that. I know I have a month, and I really am willing to be patient here, but i figure a lot of us are on or planning create sprees for candy ponies and figured it's worth this post.

I would really appreciate it if you post your HHs that give black, champagne and/or Appaloosa horses. Also perfect foundation or top notch producers! If you happened to get one of these and want to sell me your creates, I am looking for 2 or 3 year old colts.

I am willing to buy foundation stallions that meet my criteria, regardless of when they were created. Stallions must be foundations, less than 5 years old with no living foals. They must pass GA and SAT. I will buy horses on this sliding scale:

Champagne that is not classic: create price.
Black: 2750.
Appy that isn't black or champagne: 3k
Classic champagne: 5k
Black or champagne appy: 5k
Classic champagne appy: 10k

TNP: add 3K
Perfect Foundation: add 5k
Rank special: I will pay the going rate for that rank special (unused Catch A Blue Moon anyone?). I would expect to spend a minimum of 25k.

If you have color tested or PTd, I will reimburse you for that.
If you have stallion papered the horse and it is a C, add 3k to the price (covers the test plus a bonus).
If you have compared the stallion to a rank special (if it is not a perfect foundation or rank special) and it is AGA, add your test price plus 5k. (I know the test price varies depending on which upgrade you have).
If something extraordinary has happened (like a B papered foundation or spontaneous brindle) I will pay whatever extra you think is appropriate!

I would prefer that these horses not have cream, dun or roan but am willing to look at everything.

I only need one stallion in the end, so if someone comes forward with a rank special or perfect foundation I will not require any other stallions. I will still be looking for mares at that point but these prices are for stallions specifically.

Would gelding the colt be my best option to keep the lines from going awry and just showing him? He is superior to his sire but didn't paper any better than his sire which he wouldn't have anyway because his dam is a foundation. I feel like my selection of mares and stallions may need some quality control...
But first I have questions.
Should there be a point when I look at a PT and cull the horse? I like 10.0+ PT for my second gens, but should that even be a concern of mine?
Ontop of that, what are some good tips to keeping only good quality breeding stock? I have so many, I feel like my head is spinning.... and I guess I just wish I felt like I got the most out of them.
