For those of you who don’t know, NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is an annual event that takes place every November, and the goal is to write a 50,000+ word novel in a month. You can win prizes for completing 50k words, and it’s a great way to finally get that first draft written of the book you’ve been planning for years.

This will be “my” first month participating - by which I mean it will be my friend (BakeryStables) and my first month because she's doing a larger percentage of the actual writing. :)) We’ve been working on our book for years, hashing plotlines out and reworking plans, and finally we both got fed up with talking and not doing. Starting September 1st, we set a goal of 3000 words/day (which should land us just over 80k by the end of the month, allotting a couple days of rest). As much as I helped with story and worldbuilding, the writing portion has been her doing, and I’m pretty sure she’s flown through the past few days by sheer stubbornness and determination. The plan is to take a break through October, and NaNoWriMo will be book two. There are seven books total but we’ll take a break for the holidays and then re-evaluate from there.

Some of you may have seen me mention that I'm trying to move from SD to NE. Well after 10 months of crap deals, scammy contracts, and "no pets allowed" we finally bite the bullet and decided to move in with my in laws. They're great people so I don't mind (besides the fact that I feel like I'm encroaching)

Because we are moving into their house we will only be taking the essentials (clothes, toiletries, toddler items, pet supplies) so I didn't fuss to much about packing. Just cleaning up the house for my brother.

Well now were leaving tomorrow and I've been sick as a dog for 2 days and haven't been able to pack or do much of anything. I've never regretted my procrastination so much as I do right now. Well still move tomorrow and everything will be fine but I'm just feeling cruddy and down on myself and needed to vent a little

So, what is a cockhorse? Here is a basic definition from Wikipedia:

I tried to pick my cock-horse based on what I would have loved as a child. Like most little girls I went through a white horse period but it was fairly brief.
