Turns out I had an abscess in need of attention, and now I'm off work for a week. I can't really afford that much time off, so I'm a little mad at my body for choosing now, of all times, to be high maintenance. :|

I literally have zero friends in real life. That's nowhere close to being a lie. I wish it were. I have no one that I can talk to about anything. All I have is my cat and dog. It's gotten to the point, that everything I do turns stressful. And every time I turn around, I'm crying. Literally. If I drop something, I'm crying. If I accidentally break something, I'm crying. Spill something? Also crying. But then again, I've got some awful anger that keeps coming out at random times, and I fear that might turn really bad, if my mom/patents don't give me a break. I've seriously considered taking my cat, and walking out the door and not looking back. (I'd take my dog, but she's huge, and a pain to try to do anything with). Of course, doing this would make me homeless, but I don't know what else to do anymore. I'm tired of living in a constant stressful situation, and there never being a stopping point. Some days, I wish I didn't exist, but I know I'd never do anything on that subject. If I tell my stepdad that I need to go to the hospital for my depression and such, I'll just get griped at and cussed, therefore adding to the stress, anxiety, and depression. I've been trying to fall asleep since about 1am, and it's now almost 3am, and I've been crying for almost an hour...and now I feel extremely nauseated. Again. I was trying to do better. Now? We just rescued a Paint/Tennessee Walker gelding. I'm stumped on a name for him. My picture is him. He more or less looks like a QH with a Walker hind end. He's white with blues eyes, two small brown spots on his back and one tiny browns spot below one ear. Oh and his is gated.

I'm a senior in high school, and I'm starting to look at some college options, particularly those with an equestrian team and something in STEM for my academics. So far Texas A&M is my top choice.

Most college people recommend getting in touch with the coaches ASAP. On the Texas A&M website they say they are getting verbal commitments from people only in Jnr. high.

So... I found the coaches email then.... I got stuck... What do I say? Any ideas on what I say? I've had her email for 3 weeks now and done probably 100 different variations from different angles in my head but can't get anything that sounds reasonable. So far my draft says," Hello,

I am Danielle Stephenson a high school senior from Arizona. I have been riding horses my entire life, and compete at the regional level with paint horses. "

So far not very happy with what I've writted. I mostly just want to start talking with her and eventually try and get recruited for the team. If I don't get a good offer with scholarships from university I'm probably going to have to go to my local community college. Which is still a good answer but why not try for more? i've also considered being an author, but I wrote my book to 32 pages then I got stuck. Then my computer died. I've also considered learning to program with my Dad because he was programming computers before there were computers... but so far I can't even write a single character without the entire website going down.... (Just for purposes of teaching me we're programming a high point calculator for my school horse show because they reversed the scores for my last competition.... among other things)

Soo..... I was wondering if anyone could help me write my letter to the Texas A&M coach?

If any of you remember traveling via airplane pre-9/11, preferably as close to 1998 as possible and ideally intercontinentally, and would be willing to describe in much rich detail your travels, from purchasing tickets to going through security to the actual flying to landing, with special attention to things that are/aren't different from today, that would be greatly appreciated! Links to pictures would be a bonus if you know of/have/can find any, but of course not necessary.

Okay so here we go real fast backstory, I am 19, I will be 20 in December. I rode a horse for the first time a few weeks before my 18th birthday. After that I only had the opportunity to ride a handful of times, until last March. In March I started taking weekly lessons with a local trainer, who I unfortunately discontinued doing lessons with for several reasons, one reason being that I felt I was doing joy rides instead of being taught. So in June I found another trainer who I feel is the perfect balance of push and critique, but won't make you break down. Currently I can do walk, posting trot, sitting trot, canter,and two-point at the walk, trot, and canter. I am starting to tap more into cues like leg yielding and whatnot. Obviously everything can always improve, I am not perfect in anything, but I have the capability to do those things. I ride a 9 year old warmblood, and I have the intention to jump.

Anyways, I can have my hips and shoulder line up good, but ALWAYS, my leg and ankle is in front of me. Like WAY in front. My friend took a photo of me during my lesson today and I literally cringed lol. What are some things that helped you sit lined up, shoulder, hip, ankle? My trainer is working with me and trying to tell me as many different ways to do it as she can, but I just CAN'T get it!

Another thing I have an issue with is being locked in my knees and ankles. I don't allow my knees to flex, so I pump my leg. And I have issues with using my ankle and allowing it to drop and hinge. I try to stretch my ankles out daily to get them more use to the position, but they are just very stiff. And apparently when I get a few laps into trotting or canter or whatever, I stop using my knees, and close them in and lock them in place.

What are some things you think of or exercises you do to help you with those issues? My trainer always tells me that I naturally have a good sense of balance and a good seat, and that you'd never guess I've been regularly riding for less than a year, but DARN I HAVE SOME ISSUES, hahahaha. I've had a few other issues like curving my back or leaning into turns that I've been able to correct pretty easily; but my leg forward and my locked ankle and knees are just giving me a problem! My mom tells me I can keep the smallest one. So, I'm playing with him and quickly falling in love. The people come over for their puppy, who we still don't know. My mom informs me the previous owner told them they could have the smallest one, and we had no choice but to give him to them. I so wanted to cry, and actually did a little. It was so hard to hand over the puppy, and I was so hoping they would change their mind. Well... here I am, hours later, and I don't have the lil pup. :(
This has been how my week has gone. And I cannot take anymore of it. :((
