Hey y'all,

I want to give away a 210 stall barn to one lucky player. Anyone may enter. The only restriction on this gift is that you have to use it to house show ponies, not breeders. I don't care if a few mares or intact foals sneak in there, but I would like you to use this to launch or further your show herd and your resultant show bonus!

One winner will be randomly drawn after rollover at the end of Wednesday, April 20.

Hi all,

I'm the first to admit that I'm addicted to this game! I'm wondering if anyone has been away from home for a long period of time and been able to keep up with the game?

In 6 weeks I'm going to South America and travelling from Argentina to Mexico overland! Very exciting indeed, but I worry about internet connection for my horsey fixes...

If anyone has any advice on awesome things to do and see in Latin America and also has anyone had to use cellphone internet abroad?

Random create colours

Has anyone else noticed an increase in the chance for random colours when you're creating? I had a het tobiano HH today and 3/6 had extra genes. Two had appy, 1 dun, and one of the appies carried grey as well. I'm not counting roan haha. Was it just luck?

i tried to limit myself on breeding and only start breeding once all my horses get to a certain age . ( get some xp under their belt and what not ) but i couldn't help myself and broke my rules... haha. anyway , just wanted to show off the babies . ( which i thought were cute . ) im pretty happy (:

I have to say that I was pretty pleased with my first crop of Nexus foals, even though all 3 of my stallions are hetro, I got 54 out of a 100 foals with Nexus. Not bad turnout at all since all my mares are non-Nexus. I included a link if you would like to see them

Hey my second family ( aka everyone here) i found out about a week ago my uncle Troy has stage 3 cancer, along with chromes disease. ( he has the disease before they found the cancer) the doctor said he has about 5-8 years, idk when he will be starting Kemo/ radiation. And i might visit him cause i thought it would be nice to celebrate my 17th with my family including him. Please pray for him i love him

When checking the leader boards I noticed that one of my boys was highly ranked in several breeder clubs. I am very proud of Ice Star Mission 7G! In year 31 he ranked high in 3 breeder clubs - Number 3 Top Producing Stallion Year 31 Black Breeders Club, Number 2 Top Producing Stallion Year 31 Splash Breeders Club and Number 3 Top Producing Stallion Year 31 Ice Breeders Club.

So far this year he is ranked in the following clubs at these ranks- Number 3 Top Producing Stallion Year 32 Black Breeders Club, Number 2 Top Producing Stallion Year 32 Splash Breeders Club and Number 3 Top Producing Stallion Year 31 Ice Breeders Club and Number 8 Top Producing Stallion Year 32 Tobiano Breeders Club.

I know that this years numbers are subject to change, but I am very proud of this fellow :)

I thought I would share a story that is playing out at our house. I raise Heritage Poultry and water fowl in RL. Most of my breeds are considered endangered livestock by The Livestock Conservancy so every bird is important. We have an Akbash who Guards are birds. His name is Tal. Three nights ago a coon managed to kill and or eat two young pullets through the 1/4 inch wire mesh pen before Tal found him and chased him up a tree that literally is feet away from the night pens everyone sleeps in. Tal has not left the bottom of this tree and the coon obviously hasn't left the tree either. It's like the shoot out at the OK corral. Who's going to make the first move.

YAY! I finally got a *Star* colt from one of my *Star* stallions I bought from Abbey. Thanks Abbey for putting, Something Poetic up for sale. He gave me this really nice colored and patterned colt that papered *Star* this morning. And he is a descendant of one of my very favorite mares, since I named her after my last APHA mare I had bred in real life, Hood River Breeze. He is descendant from Abbey's lines on both sides of his pedigree. I took a chance on breeding his mom, Hood River Seat to Somethuing Poetic, since this was her fist year breeding, and she hasn't had three foals yet to be papered. I am hoping she will paper *Gold* next season, for my first "Gold" papered mare.

Hiya!

We don't get to talk much about our fandoms lives in the course of the game, except for small references in names and notes. Here's a chance to let everyone know which fandoms have a banner flying from your turrets!

If you get into an argument , we might ask you to take it to the PMs. We might also join in.

I'm a Potterhead, Whovian, LotR fan, Trekkie, Star Wars fan (only recently :P), Sherlockian, Merlinian, Firefly fan, Brownie/Pegasister, Marvel fan, and a Disney fan, to varying degrees.
I've also seen a bunch of standalone movies, but that's probably a list too long for here. :P

In books, I've read and enjoyed works by Marguerite Henry, Walter Farley, Jasper Fforde, John Flanagan, Pamela Aidan, Shannon Hale, Eoin Colfer, S. Morgenstern, Brian Jacques, P. G. Wodehouse, Madeleine L'Engle, Rick Riordan, Jane Austin, Laurie R. King, C. S. Lewis, Terry Pratchett, and I'm sure many others who I'm forgetting.
I've also read the Sweetness At the Bottom of the Pie, National Velvet, many many books of the Saddle Club in my younger days, Tintin, some John Green novels, the Little House on the Prairie series, the How to Train Your Dragon series (except the last book or two), a like a bazillion others. :D

The geek flag thread revealed lots of crafty people doing art and cosplay and sewing and costuming and other cool stuff, and I'm craftily obsessed so I thought I'd open up an opportunity to share projects you're working on or have worked on, or costumes, or Breyers, or whatever hobby you want to share.

I'm obsessively creative and can't stick to one thing... I make chainmaille and wire jewelry (professionally), photography (semi-professionally), paint/draw (I have sold some but I'm a slacker with it so can't currently say professionally), henna, paint miniatures for gaming, origami, crochet, and recently have started tinkering with sewing and digital art. There's probably more stuff. So I have lots to share, but right now I'll share jewelry and a painting. More later.

I love making wire trees, both jewelry and as decoration.

If I could have this in real life....

When I bred this filly it occurred to me that if I could pick any one color to have on a live horse, it'd be this -- shiny silver dapple with satin. <3 Maybe I'd add a little splash. Maybe. My actual real horses are both fleabitten grey; I think one was chestnut and one was bay before they greyed out, but that's a guess.

I just want to celebrate with some horse people who will understand...

I keep my horses on a friend's property. He is mainly into cows but he has two mares he rescued who live with my two... he doesn't do much with either of them. One of them is an in your pocket kind of girl but the other has always been all but untouchable. She was abused.

Over the past six years, I have been working gradually and when I have time in between working with my two and well, life in general, to earn her trust. I have gotten her to where she will eat out of my hand when I feed, but if I try to touch her she is gone.

Well, over the holidays I hardly had time to get out to the farm at all. When I went on New Year's Day, "V" was the first to come toward me. She stopped about 10 feet away and you could see the gears turning. So I fed them, and I was standing by my mare Storm while they ate. Storm's low girl in the pecking order and normally I don't let anyone push her off her food but when V came looking to do that, I let her... but I stood my ground, about 2 feet from the dish. "You want it, fine, but I'm not moving." She stood thinking. I offered a carrot. She took it. Within a couple of minutes she was letting me touch her all over her face but if I touched her neck, she'd spazz... but then she'd come back, and stand, and just hang with me. It's maybe the third time she's allowed me to touch her at all and the first time there wasn't food in my other hand.

Yesterday I went again, and again, she sought contact. Sometimes it was too much and she'd back off, so I'd retreat, and then I thought "Let's try something..." and I walked away from her.

She followed. In fact she followed me for a good long time (like a classic Monty Roberts "join up", although there was no round pen involved), licking her lips and letting me stop and rub on her (just up to her neck, though).

I feel like a kid daydreaming of the beautiful big black horse that will allow no one else to touch them, like half the horse stories I read as a girl, and even though I've been working with horses for most of my life, it makes me giddy. <3 Here's hoping we can do more... she doesn't technically belong to me but I am free to do whatever with her, since no one else can do anything with her. I'd like to get her to where she'll at least allow vet and farrier.

Here she is. I have NO idea what breed she is... any guesses? I estimate she's a good 16 hh (obviously, I've never measured).

Then I remembered every other dark brown colt I have by my brown producing stallions, Mystery Doodles, and Palo Verde, have been gelded. The Dark Brown fillies have been half intact, and half spayed. I figured it should be time for a colt to stay intact. [-O<
But alas I was wrong.... :((
SAT took care of that. I will just have to try again.....

Since I don't have a Dark Brown Intact Colt yet. I am very happy about the Dark Buckskin Fillies I got so far from Mystery Doodles, and the Dark Brown Filly, and the Dark Buckskin Colt, I got from my foundation stallion Palo Verde #:-S :
