7am got to the hospital and completed paper work. When I got upstairs they were unable to get me into a room for an hour and a half. Had a very busy night (the hospital) and had am emergency birth, hope mother and baby were fine. I believe they were/are

9-1030am nothing much happened. They started my monitors and started my IV with antibiotics (strep B positive)

11am my doctor came in and finally checked my dilation, barely 2 cm. He broke my water and put attached a monitor or something to baby.

11am-1pm basically nothing butmild contraction

2pm-4pm this is where things got a bit fuzzy. Contractions started getting more intense but not by much. I was given IV painkillers. Spent most of this time chattering my head off. At 4pm I wanted to take a nap as I had only slept 2 hours the night before. This is when I noticed the meds wearing off. Within half an hour my contraction were so bad i requested an epidiral. A contraction monitor (I believe) was placed next to baby's head. Cervix checked at just about 4 cm

5pm epidural was administered. Very very odd sort of pain. Labor drug lowered from a 20 to a 10. Nurse told me she had rarely seen a woman go so long at full pit with no epidural
530pm cervix was measuring at 3cm again. Pit (labor drug) was "gently" increased. Contractions started back up and I basically spent the next few hours feeling very itchy but mostly fine.

8pm was given benadryl for the itchymess and to help me finally get some sleep.

At 1015pm my nurse woke me (she did several looks between for regular examination and med adjustments) to check cervix and check my blood pressure as it was rather low. FINALLY cervix is measuring at 5cm. What a relief. Hoping and wishing that everything starts to roll along now.

Sorry for such a long post but i see you all as extended friends and would like to share my story with everyone. Plus I like getting the occasional pregnancy/birth/or baby story from you other mothers as well.

Now for the fun part. If like to do a give away to anyone who can guess the baby's arrival time and his birth weight. I'll give a hint to be fair, he has been a smaller baby this pregnancy, causing a bit of alarm at first :D

I haven't decided on a prize yet. I'm thinking I'll offer 2 desperate prizes, one for each category. I think I'll also give the prizes based on what the winner(s) preferences are as far as their herd goes. Nothing fancy but still fun!

Baby has been extremely small this entire pregnancy and has finally reached 5 pounds this week (at 38 weeks gestation.) Doctor wants to induce partially because I am getting close to going over my due date and because he is also worried about our health if baby hangs around to long.
As of yesterday baby was starting to drop, my cervix was at 1cm dilation, I had been experiencing headaches, back aches, Braxton hicks, nausea, and a few other symptoms. I'll spare everyone the details :))

So basically expect my absence in the few weeks to follow. I'll try to be on as much as possible to keep my horses from getting to stale though.

We have a baby together who turned 1 on the weekend.. as much as my baby gets me going with life this game occupys me and helps keep me from getting into too much of a depressed state..
