Surprise Foals

I bred my 2nd generation pasture, which just has Warmbloods in, and my Heavy Foundation pasture today... so when I came across this guy I assumed he was from my Heavy Foundation pasture... NOPE he's from the 2nd pasture with all warmbloods in his background :O Has anyone else had any unexpected but awesome foals this season so far? I'd love to see them! :)

Does the basic member upgrade refresh at the beginning of each year? (actual year 2017, 2018 etc)
or
Does it refresh each year from the month you bought it?
or
Is it a permanent add on for your account?

Would love to know the answer as I am considering purchasing it ;)

My little greyhound Luna has only been a 'farm dog' for the past month and she has adjusted so well. My other dog Odie grew up with my last horse so he knows whats what but at 1yr old Luna is experiencing it all for the first time. Today she patiently sat next to me while I lunged Fish and then happily walked out with us to put Fish back in her field. On our way back to the yard we were mobbed by the resident Shetland ponies (10 + 1 4 month old colt) and Luna just quietly stood there while a few of the mares sniffed at her. Luna even comes for rides out with us, needs to learn about not going near the back legs, most of the time she's darting ahead.

Burghley Horse Trials! (CCI4*)

Wondering if anybody else is heading to Burghley this week? I'm doing the Friday (second day of Dressage) and the Saturday for the Cross Country :D Not my first Burghley, but my first time on Cross Country day.. and it's proving hard to choose a good spot to watch from.

Particularly looking forward to seeing Leonidas II in action (and Mark Todd by default). Does anybody else go to these events looking forward to seeing certain horses, rather than their riders? :)) (Not to mention the shopping! :x )

Super excited for the new breeding season I've got all my mares picked out that I'm going to pull eggs from for breeding this next season now to pick my studs for the pastures :) almost satisfied with my picks for the year :) got all my straw purchases in my notes with my mares as well

So I finally got a job in the real world, lol. I start at Tractor Supply tomorrow! I'm so excited to finally be making my own money :D And I also get 15% off as an employee discount, which is awesome because that's where I get my rabbit and goat feed/supplies!

So horrible news bolt my dog I took him to the vet today he has infected anal glands I just got them done a month ago and now he has to be on antibiotics they were 40$ just for antibiotics I just spent 100$ at the vet and tomorrow he is getting his parvo/rabies shot I guess he was a year over due for that shot I had no idea he could have gotten parvo or rabies in that whole year of being over due I didn't even know older dogs could get parvo I thought only puppies got it. I'm freaking out now I can't take him for a walk today oh and the shot is 100$ just for the shot so I just spent 200$ in two days just on one dog pets are so expensive Darnit lol and it sucks because I'm not working at the moment so I have been borrowing money from my mom and ex boyfriend to make it through the month ugh. It would be cool to hear stories of everyone's expensive vet bills. Also when I was 17 I got a pit bull puppy who had parvo and he gave it to my other puppy and I had to put the pit bull down because he was to far gone but my other dog I saved she was a Jack Russell named Piper the bill for that was 600$ and being 17 at the time you could imagine how hard that was to pay off. I wish pets had insurance lol

Windsucking

So Fish the freak windsucks....yay(!) She was wearing an anti crib/windsucking collar but it's magically disappeared, I've put her on pink powder, and the vet has been to check for ulcers (none). I've spoke to the old owner and Fish has been regularly checked for ulcers and they never found any, they said that it started as a stress release which has became habit. It's horrible, hate horses that windsuck. I've had a look at other ways to deter her doing it but they all cost upwards of £30 for a few weeks supply, crib stop is apparently rubbish for how much it costs. Is there a safe home made alternative? I'm thinking vasaline (petroleum jelly) mixed with say chilly powder would sharp stop her ruining her stable door/wall and teeth.

So I'm either incredibly brave or stupid. Just purchased an ottb called Stickleback who is a chestnut mare <- hence brave or stupid. I need a stable name for her. I'm hopefully going to start pairs dressage with Pen on North. My last tb I renamed JD because at the time it was my favourite drink, my current favourite tipple is s*x on the beach so I might name her peach. She's an orangey red chestnut (I will get pictures once she's delivered) so peach would fit. I dunno though..
