I remember that one of the major reasons I didn't play HJ for a long time was the fact that I could not understand what so many of the forum posts were about! Who did that survey/paper on the HJ community (and what grade did you get, by the way?!)? Several people commented that the abbreviations and slang made the forum, unintentionally, less welcoming to new players.

I'm not sure how we could encourage each other to keep things easier for new people to understand, but I plan to push people in the beginners barn to Keep it Simple! On my own posts I'm going to try my best to be more clear, and ask people to point it out if I start to speak too much Hajinc!

It appears I have beaten this bug into submission. Now if you go to create a herd helper you already have an active copy of, it will inform you that you can only have one active copy of any herd helper. Your rerolls will not reset. You will not lose the option to create that herd helper. As soon as you deactivate your active copy you can create your second copy for the day.
